We are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA Job Responsibilities: Work with the End User Device Team Lead and the Technical Project Manager Provide for all facets of network implementation and maintenance to support the project Work in multi-disciplinary, matrix project structure to gather requirements, contribute to work plans and meet deadlines Provide support of technical analysis for network systems, multiplexers, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems Perform installation, configuration, testing, and servicing on all internal / in-house data communications network equipment Conduct analysis and prepare reports Assist in the recommendation for improvements and the development of technical standards associated with company network systems Champion the project Required Skills: 3+ years experience with the enterprise level network design Extensive configuration and support experience in a highly complex multi-layered network environment Experience in working with EIA/TIA standards based high capacity networks using: front end communication processors, SONET, T3, T1 circuits, modems, multiplexers, and data compression devices Evidence an understanding of a systems perspective and the interdependence of one unit upon another, and how changes in any one affect all others Demonstrate ability and professional concern for bringing together knowledge of operations and information needs of users Ability to enlist the support of management personnel in fact finding assessments and recommendations concerning communication systems applications Ability to deal effectively with multiple constituencies and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to diverse groups Extensive hands-on network management experience with enterprise class switches firewalls Must have superior network routing protocol troubleshooting skills Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including PPP, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP protocols Extensive hands-on experience with security issues and Access Control mechanisms to prevent unwanted access Experience with standard network change management and configuration policies In-depth knowledge of packet capturing for baseline analysis and trouble-shooting network anomalies. Experience with setting up WAN links (T1, DS3, OC3) Familiarity with data traffic patterns on the network and load balancing Minimum Educational Requirements: 4-year college degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials: Cisco Certification strongly preferred (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE) Epic Duration: 12 Month Employment Type: Contractor: Yes Right-To-Hire: Yes Click Here & Apply Now!
