We are currently looking for a DATABASE MANAGEMENT - ORACLE SPECIALIST to join our team in WOONSOCKET, RI. Job Responsibilities: Database administration services to configure and maintain large Oracle environments, including the Peoplesoft HR and Financial suites. Provide Production support of large, 7x24 Oracle databases supporting active online applications. Troubleshoot Production problems and working effectively with other team members to identify and address problems. Write Unix shell scripts for database monitoring and to automate routine tasks. Perform data management tasks as required; loading, editing, restoring and removing data objects as requested by the clients. Refresh data in UAT and Integration databases. Research, test and coordinate Oracle patches/upgrades. Tune SQL code and assist developers in writing and tuning SQL queries. Interact with Oracle support to resolve issues. Monitor database for space and performance issues. Support backup and recovery of databases as neededRequired Skills: 5+ years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting enterprise class Oracle database environments including 8i, 9i and 10g ; Expert level production Oracle DBA experience ; Good PL/SQL skills ; Expert in UNIX shell scripting ; Good experience with SQL query writing, tuning and debugging ; Working knowledge of Oracle RMAN backup and recovery, partitioning and database optimization ; Ability to work independently or within a team and must have good communication skills. Desired Skills: Knowledge of Peoplesoft HR and financial software and knowledge of MS SQL Server, Informix or Essbase a plus. Duration: 6 Month
