Vendor Management Case Study - Healthcare

The diverse capabilities of Ewings Associates are showcased by the professional staffing services we currently provide for the second largest publicly traded company in the State of Minnesota. Here is a summary of our successes with this organization that is also recognized as the largest healthcare services company in the nation.

Situation

As part of a VMS effort to consolidate the number of preferred staffing vendors, the client desired a partner who could deliver resources across a wider range of competencies. They found that their vendors were often niche consulting firms, only able to provide contractors in one specific area. Adding to this was the requirement to be able to manage these resources on a national level. They needed access to a talent pool that would enable them to fill the following roles and more: healthcare, legal, marketing, creative services, human resources, training, management, accounting & finance, project management, business analysis, customer service and operations

Solution

Although Ewings Associates already possessed an expansive set of competencies, we needed to expand our portfolio of talent to “bridge” the client need. This solution required that we quickly develop our ability to qualify resources in healthcare, insurance and legal fields – all disciplines that had not previously been central to our business scope.

The comprehensive nature of our refined recruiting processes enabled us to design a new “quality assurance” program to help us execute in these new areas. In addition, our intimate understanding of VMS processes allowed us to integrate quickly and effectively into their program on a national scale.

Results

We successfully assisted the client in accomplishing their task of reducing the number of vendors needed to support their diverse, national, contingent workforce. Ewings Associates helped the Vendor Management Office by allowing them to work with fewer vendors and by providing them with the talent their hiring managers require.

Since 2003, Ewings Associates has successfully delivered professional resources to this client in 21 States across the Country.

Vendor Management Case Study - Retailer

The diverse capabilities of Ewings Associates are showcased by the work we performed for the largest publicly traded company in the state of Minnesota. Here is a summary of our staffing successes with the forth largest retailer in the country.

Situation

Major retailer created a division to test and pilot a potential enterprise solution. The budget was limited and the expectations were large and deemed critical to the parent. They needed a flexible, on-demand team of professional services resources that could effectively execute across a wide variety of roles with almost no lead-time. Needs included: project management, marketing strategy, direct mail campaign design and development, marketing research, vertical strategy, recruiting, holiday campaign development, external and internal marketing communications, traffic management, tradeshow strategy, catalog production, vendor management, e-commerce designs and development, presentation development and scripting, human resources and a variety of information technology initiatives.

Solution

Utilizing a retainer consulting model with a fixed bank of hours, Ewings Associates provided the client access to its pool of scalable knowledge and resources. Employing our approach of asking the right questions and listening, we determined what projects would deliver the highest value. We then delivered a custom solution that maximized productivity while delivering on budget.

Several critical projects required expertise that the client did not have in-house. Ewings Associates delivered a total of 37 on-demand subject matter experts who averaged 15 years of related experience.

Results

With our support, the client was able to successfully launch the new brand into the market and met its targeted revenue goals established by the parent company.

Flexibility and highly-refined talent processes enabled Ewings Associates help the client do more with less. Using our knowledge base and skilled associates, we successfully built a bridge between the customer’s needs and their goals.

In the first year, Ewings Associates assisted in executing over 100 projects. Our approach and execution helped us garner the coveted recognition as a “preferred vendor”. We call it being a good partner. We now receive new requests for professional resources from this client on a daily basis.
